WiFi Lugano

In today's society it is increasingly important to exploit cutting edge communication technologies. Of these, Internet access is without doubt the most important.
For this reason the City of Lugano and Lugano Industrial Enterprises (AIL) SA together with Lugano Casino and Lugano Turismo have promoted the WiFi Lugano project in order to offer citizens, clients and tourists the possibility of free access to Internet through WiFi technology. From any point providing access to a wireless network located in the city centre, all users equipped with a mobile device, such as a portable computer or smart phone, can freely connect up to the network to do all those things which they would normally do in their office or at home: checking e-mail, looking up their company's intranet or taking advantage of the numerous services offered by the Web. This is the advantage of wireless technology: the fact that the user is always connected to the network without worrying about modems or being restricted by cables or being tied to the desk.
With this AIL project, the city of Lugano adds another important piece to the range of services it offers its citizens and raises its game as a value added city - at the centre of the national and international stage as a magnet for knowledge workers.
