As tradition dictates, the Municipality of Lugano invites the public to join the New Year celebrations at the Congress Palace.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, 1 January 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with the procession departing from Piazza della Riforma, passing through Piazza Manzoni and Riva Albertolli, and arriving at the Congress Palace at 11:10 a.m., where the official part and a convivial gathering will take place.
After the Mayor of Lugano, Michele Foletti, has greeted the Civic Fire Brigade and the Lugano Volunteer Corps, musical performances by the Lugano Civic Philharmonic will follow. The audience will then move to the amphitheatre hall, where the ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. After the address by the Mayor, Michele Foletti, the guest of this edition, Emanuele Dati, Director of the Lugano Regional Hospital, will take the floor to offer a moment of reflection and a message of good wishes for the new year.
