Bikesharing

Bikesharing is a convenient rental service that lets you borrow a bicycle from a dedicated station and return it to another, 24 hours a day. It is a comfortable way to get around the city: it reduces the use of private cars, avoids traffic and parking hassles, and contributes to air quality and quality of life.

The service has been active in Lugano since 2010 and is currently evolving in the context of the 2022 merger between Publibike and Velospot, which created Switzerland’s largest interconnected Bikesharing network.

The bicycles, developed specifically for Bikesharing, are compact and easy to handle, offered in mechanical and electric versions.

Station map and bike rental

You can register through the national website or the app to rent a bicycle at any station in the Lugano network.

The app shows real-time bicycle availability and the nearest station. Using the app and Bluetooth, you can unlock the lock and rent a bike. When you have finished, park the bicycle at any Bikesharing station and close the lock manually.

If you have a SwissPass, you can add it to your customer account during registration and use it to access the service.
