The City of Lugano, with the support of Locarno and Mendrisio, is applying to become the national focal point for Swiss culture for one year. In 2027, the first capital will be La Chaux-de-Fonds, as a pilot project.
The project will enhance the sports offerings, improving the quality of life in Cornaredo thanks to large green areas and public spaces suitable for sharing and hosting events, including international ones.

Extraordinary closures of the Municipal Administration
On the occasion of the year-end holidays, the offices of the Municipal Administration of Lugano, including the City’s Public service desks and the Ecocentri (Recycling Centers), will be closed on Wednesday 24 December and Wednesday 31 December 2025.
