Once again this year, the “Campus Jump In” training event dedicated to young apprentices and interns of the City of Lugano - now in its second edition - took place with great participation.
The initiative, organized by the Human Resources Division, was held on 28 and 29 August 2025 at the SUPSI-USI East Campus in Viganello. The aim of Campus Jump In is to accompany new hires on their onboarding journey, fostering integration, mutual understanding, and a sense of belonging to the Municipal Administration.
Over the two days, participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the City of Lugano, its organizational structures, and the dynamics that govern the functioning of the City Parliament and the City Council.
The program included training and reflection on the behaviours and skills needed to make the most of the apprenticeship and internship period, enriched by insights on topics such as cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Esteemed guests presenting these topics were Suzanna Farace Marazza (Jurist at CCdigitallaw of the Università della Svizzera italiana) and Riccardo Masutti (Business Development, Data and Cybersecurity specialist).
Participants also had the opportunity to meet Lugano’s City Chancellor, Robert Bregy. It was a valuable occasion to get to know a key figure of the Municipal Administration, understand his role, and learn about the experience required to hold such a position.
Thanks to the collaboration with Lugano Living Lab, on Friday afternoon participants went to Casa Cattaneo, where they took part in one of the workshops of the Happiness2.0 project - an initiative that the City of Lugano promotes with the IBSA Foundation and USI through Lugano Living Lab. During the activity, using different techniques, the new recruits of the Municipal Administration were encouraged to engage in active and mindful reflection on digital-related issues. The workshop on masks (pictured), in particular, besides prompting reflection on the very concept of the mask in society - both real and virtual - helped create a collaborative and cohesive atmosphere among the young participants.
